Makkairi, Goddess of Protection
Realm: The protection of all of Caspia's lifeforms.
Typical Appearance: Makkairi most often appears as a young maiden with
flowing brown hair and hazel eyes, wearing a simple robe and carrying a
large shield and a small warhorn. When she comes to deliver a warning,
however, she will usually appear as the crone, wrinkled and grey.
Represented by: Homes, castles, strongholds.
Followers: Makkairi's followers come in all shapes, sizes, races, and
classes. They are the fighters who protect weaker villages, the rogues who
scour the shadows of their homeland sniffing out the secrets that could
cause harm, the clerics who offer their blessings as protection. They tend
to be somewhat outspoken and highly honourable people.
Commentary: After the gods created the world, it was clear that everything
in existence upon it would need protection from each other. As the races
grew in intelligence, they began their endless attempts to conquer all
that they did not already own, leading to bloodshed and war. Makkairi
offers her protection to those wounded or defenseless people who cannot
fight for themselves. Her followers often aid any in need or any who
struggle for a just or noble cause.
Makkairi's symbol is a small war horn with several drawings of smaller
horns etched onto its side.
A true follower of Makkairi will possess a good soul.
